Eligibility Requirements:

• This category is open to any new or renovated project by any PKHBA member.
• “Any Room” is defined as any single room other than a kitchen or bathroom. Examples include a wine cellar, home theatre, mudroom, kids play room, an attached garage, laundry room, home gym, bedroom, family room or home office.
• If a project was completed with the help of another PKHBA member company, the submission is strongly encouraged to be entered as a co-submission.

Requirements

This award recognizes a company's achievements, leadership and innovation over the past 12 months for outstanding Health and Safety policies, procedures and practices. This company has raised the bar for the industry as a whole. There is power in health and safety. It is so important for Business Owners, Managers, and ALL Workers to have a health and safety-minded focus and we recognize that it takes a lot of dedication, focus and effort. This is a journey that is never ending.

Judges will be looking for:

• How is health and safety awareness communicated and treated in the workplace?
• Provide some examples of your workplace health & safety procedures and best practices. 
• Describe any unique elements to your Health & Safety practice's that keep it top of mind for your workers.
• How do you measure the effectiveness of your training, how successful are these practice's on your site?

Note: PKHBA reserves the right to perform a project audit for finalists in this category.

• For the purpose of this category, a custom home builder is defined as a builder who has built fewer than 11 homes in the previous 18 months.
• Builders must submit for at least one (1) other projects in a New Home Construction, Home Renovation or Best Rooms, Spaces and Outbuildings award category.
• Builder must be registered with HCRA
• This category cannot be entered by a production builder.
• This category may be entered by a manufacturer builder only as a co-submission with a PKHBA custom home builder.

• Builders must submit for at least one (1) other projects in a New Home Construction, Home Renovation or Best Rooms, Spaces and Outbuildings award category.
• This category cannot be entered by either a custom builder or a production home builder.

• Builder must have a valid HCRA License
• This category cannot be entered by either a custom builder or a manufacturer builder

The Community of the Year Award is bestowed upon the builder whose project combines the best overall products, site, advertising, promotion, on-site presentation and architectural design. Judges will grade the entries in various different categories and the cumulative total score will be used to determine the Community of the Year.

The written submission should include an outline of why you believe your community is deserving of the Community of the Year Award, including information on the entire community (open spaces, recreation areas, site plan, logo, innovative streetscapes, etc.). Describing how the community enhances the area it is in by providing new recreational spaces, community spaces or commercial buildings to the neighbourhood. Applies to the entire development/subdivision. If a community is part of a larger Community with other builders then all companies must be recognized in the submission and it must be entered as a co-submission

Requirements

The Project of the Year Award is bestowed upon the builder whose project combines the best overall products, site, advertising, promotion, on-site presentation and architectural design. Judges will grade the entries in various different categories and the cumulative total score will be used to determine the Project of the Year.

The written submission should include an outline of why you believe your multi-residential project is deserving of the Project of the Year Award, including information on use of space, neighbourhood esthetic, use of space and floor plans.

Note: PKHBA reserves the right to perform a project audit for finalists in this category.
