Who is eligible to submit an entry for the PKHBA Awards?

Submissions are open to all active members in good standing with the Peterborough Kawartha Home Builders Association (PKHBA).

Do the projects have to be located within the Peterborough / Kawartha region?

No! Projects can be located anywhere across Canada, provided the entry is submitted by an active PKHBA member who played a primary role in the design, build, renovation, or execution of the project.

Can non-members enter the awards?

Only current PKHBA members are eligible to submit entries. If you are a non-member interested in participating, you are welcome to apply for a PKHBA membership prior to submitting your entry.

How do I submit an entry?

Submissions must be completed online through the official PKHBA entry portal. Ensure all required fields, project descriptions, and media uploads are complete before final submission.

What materials do I need to prepare for my submission?

Requirements vary slightly by category, but generally include:

  • High-resolution, professional photos (before/after photos for renovation categories)
  • Detailed project description outlining design goals, challenges overcome, and special features
  • Floor plans or architectural drawings (where applicable)
  • Written permission/release from homeowners or trade partners, if required

Can I enter the same project into multiple categories?

Yes! As long as the project meets the specific criteria for each individual category, you may enter it in multiple categories. A separate entry fee and submission form may be required for each entry.

When is the submission deadline?

All submissions must be fully completed and paid for by September 4 at 11:59pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.

How are the awards judged?

Entries are judged by a panel of independent, industry-respected professionals from outside the local region to ensure complete impartiality. Projects are evaluated on design excellence, quality of execution, innovation, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be revealed and celebrated live at the formal PKHBA Housing Design Awards Gala on October 29 at the Healthy Planet Arena Banquet Hall.
