The Project of the Year Award is bestowed upon the builder whose project combines the best overall products, site, advertising, promotion, on-site presentation and architectural design. Judges will grade the entries in various different categories and the cumulative total score will be used to determine the Project of the Year.
The written submission should include an outline of why you believe your multi-residential project is deserving of the Project of the Year Award, including information on use of space, neighbourhood esthetic, use of space and floor plans.
Note: PKHBA reserves the right to perform a project audit for finalists in this category.

The written submission should include an outline of why you believe your community is deserving of the Community of the Year Award, including information on the entire community (open spaces, recreation areas, site plan, logo, innovative streetscapes, etc.). Describing how the community enhances the area it is in by providing new recreational spaces, community spaces or commercial buildings to the neighbourhood. Applies to the entire development/subdivision. If a community is part of a larger Community with other builders then all companies must be recognized in the submission and it must be entered as a co-submission

Builder of the Year - Custom
Requirements
Eligibility Requirements:
- For the purpose of this category, a custom home builder is defined as a builder who has built fewer than 11 homes in the previous 18 months AND creates a new home design/floor plan for each client.
- Builders must submit for at least one (1) other projects in a New Home Construction, Home Renovation or Best Rooms, Spaces and Outbuildings award category.
- Builder must be registered with HCRA (have valid Builder's License)
- This category cannot be entered by a production builder (builder who uses the same plans, with minor variations, for the majority of homes that are built).
- This category may be entered by a manufacturer builder only as a co-submission with a PKHBA custom home builder.

- For the purpose of this category, a tract/production builder is defined as a builder who has built more than 11 homes in the past 18 months.
- Builders must submit for at least one (1) other projects in a New Home Construction, Home Renovation or Best Rooms, Spaces and Outbuildings award category.
- Builder must be registered with Tarion
- Builder must have a valid HCRA License
- This category cannot be entered by either a custom builder or a manufacturer builder.
